FAB Group’s Journey in Revit Implementation
This post is a Case Study on the Revit Training and Implementation process that has been followed for FAB Group. The training and implementation model followed has been extremely successful.
Introduction
FAB Group, is a Multi-disciplinary luxury Architecture and Interior Design firm. The company’s projects include high end private homes and luxury hotels and resorts. Established in 1976 by Architect Sarbjit Singh, FAB Group has a strong legacy of over 40 years. It is a leading firm in high-end residential and hospitality architecture and interior design. Principal Architect Jaskaran Singh ensures that FAB Group uses technology to deliver high-quality projects. Towards this end, Jaskaran wanted to get his studio staff trained in Revit
Revit Training Process
FAB Group employs more than 100 studio staff, including architects, interior designers, and visualizers. Bimsrv was approached to propose Revit Training FAB Group Studio staff. The proposal suggested a unique Revit Training and implementation process. The Revit Training and Implementation for FAB Group included:
- Training: A 3-day workshop model was used for customised Revit Training.
- Implementation: of Revit included Revit Mentorship and Revit Handholding
Pilot Revit training sessions were organized into groups of approximately 10 participants. The training was organized in a 3Day workshop format.
The training sessions were held over the weekend, from Friday to Sunday. Training sessions took place from 9:30 AM to 5 PM.
This structured schedule allowed participants to engage in a comprehensive learning experience over the three days.
Revit Implementation
At the end of the weekend training, the studio team was ready to start using Revit on the following Monday. The Implementation process included Hand holding and Mentorship with weekly visits. This model of Revit Training and Implementation was very successful.
The Revit training and implementation for FAB Group is still continuing with new batches are being trained regularly. This format of training and implementation has continued for almost a year. The firsy group training took place in December 2023.
Implementation Process
The next phase of the process has been implementation. The Revit Implementation involves:
- Development and Management of Custom Revit Templates.
- Mentoring and Hand holding
- Defined the Work Process for collaborative work between Architects, Interior Designers, Visualisers and Quantity Surveyors.
Implementing Revit means giving guidance and support to users as they learn the software. This process helps them feel more comfortable and skilled in using Revit. The Bimsrv Revit Implementation Specialist visited weekly to help with problems and answer questions.
This hand-holding and Support process helped trainees at FAB Group gain greater confidence and switch over to Revit. They are now delivering projects exclusively on Revit for all stages of Design, from Concept to Working Drawings.

Conclusion
The positive results from the first group of participants motivated the FAB Group. This led them to expand the initiative to include all other studio staff members. To ensure that every participant would have an equal opportunity to gain from this program, the same systematic process that was successfully implemented with the first group was carefully repeated for each subsequent group. This approach aimed to ensure that all team members received the same level of engagement, support, and resources. This way, we created a cohesive and inclusive environment for everyone involved.
